Subscription-Based Electronic Resources

Our subscription-based electronic resources can be accessed from the library's home page. Click on the "Electronic Resources" link in the left navigation area. Also, when doing research, you can keep up with your sources using the links and information on the "Citation Helps" page.

World Book OnlineYou should not need a user name and password while in the school building, but if you use this resource at home, you will. You may create your own student user account and password. This will enable you to save and bookmark articles and keep up with your citations using World Book's Citation Builder. World Book provides citations already formatted correctly, so all you have to do is copy and paste into your document.

WORLD BOOK STUDENT
There is an EXPLORE section. Click on the "Explore the World" link. The "Resource Guide" for the the World is extensive. The map is interactive; just click on a place on the map, and you will be directed to further narrow your search. The EXPLORE section also has a "Compare Places" link that may help you in your research.

WORLD BOOK DISCOVER
There is a PLACES section on the right. Click on that link, and you will be taken to a page where you may further narrow your search by continent, country, city, buildings, regions, and more.

Tennessee Electronic Library (TEL)

Use the Junior Edition K-12 (for upper elementary / middle school) or Student Edition K-12 (for high school). Type in your search term, and then you must further narrow your search. Formatted citations are not provided, but the information is at the top of the article, and you can input this information in any of the free electronic citation builders (Son of Citation Machine or Easy Bib).

Britannica Image Quest

If you need graphics or clip art for your project, please use this copyright-cleared, subscription-based resource. Correctly formatted citations are provided in the "Cite This Image" section on the lower right side of the graphic.
